Presperin Succeeds Huehne as CFO of Fireman’s Fund
Peter W. Presperin has been named CFO of Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company. A direct report to CEO Jeff Post, Presperin was also elected to the Fireman’s Fund Board of Directors in November.
Presperin succeeds Peter Huehne, who has been named CFO of Allianz of America, the holding company for all North American subsidiaries of Allianz AG. Huehne will report to Jan Carendi, CEO of Allianz of America.
Presperin had previously been executive vice president and president of Reinsurance and Discontinued Operations of Fireman’s Fund. He will retain his reinsurance responsibilities in his CFO role.
“In a very short time Peter Presperin has shown financial acumen and problem solving abilities that have been of tremendous value in our discontinued operations,” said Jeff Post, CEO of Fireman’s Fund. “We are now testing his extensive background in capital management, financial reporting, business process re-engineering and financial systems by naming him to the key role of CFO. Peter has critical strengths in a number of key areas to help us accelerate our 30 month financial turnaround.”
Presperin joined Fireman’s Fund last January from his previous post as CFO of First Colony Life, a part of GE Financial Assurance. He had held CFO positions at Scottish Annuity & Life Holdings, Ltd. and Cologne Life Reinsurance. He also held senior finance positions at The St. Paul Companies and is a 24-year veteran of domestic and international diversified financial services including property and casualty insurance, life insurance, insurance brokerage and investment banking.
