Fireman’s Fund Reacts to Alleged Lawsuit
Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company issued the following statement regarding a lawsuit allegedly filed last week in Los Angeles Superior Court by plaintiff Allen Estin against 14 insurance companies, including Fireman’s Fund, concerning their purported refusal to sell life
insurance to people who travel to Israel.
The statement is as follows: “Fireman’s Fund has not seen the lawsuit in question, but believes a mistake has been made either in the filing of the suit or in the media reports linking Fireman’s Fund to the complaint. Fireman’s Fund is a property and casualty insurer only, with no life insurance products or services. Fireman’s Fund has not had a life insurance capability since 1985, when that line of business was sold.”
