Web-Based Occupational Guidelines Available to Help Calif. Companies Manage Workers’ Comp
OEM Press and Intracorp have joined forces to distribute the second edition of the distinguished American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine’s (ACOEM) Occupational Medicine Practice Guidelines to Intracorp’s customers in California. The guidelines are now available, along with Intracorp’s proprietary workers’ compensation case management guidelines, through Intracorp’s easy-to-use, web-based Case Manager Toolbox.
ACOEM’s guidelines are written by physicians for physicians. Intracorp’s guidelines are written for nurses, case managers, and claims professionals.
The ACOEM guidelines are the basis of utilization management in California under SB 899, the state’s sweeping new workers’ comp legislation. Intracorp’s own Optimal Treatment Guidelines (OTG) address treatment not covered by ACOEM.
The ACOEM and Intracorp guidelines are provided through Intracorp’s Case Manager Toolbox, which allows customers and case managers to access guidelines, provider networks, medical definitions, pharmacy information, and other tools in seconds through Intracorp’s website.
