Montana State Fund Chooses CorVel Corp. for ASP

February 24, 2005

California-based CorVel has been awarded the Montana State Fund (MSF) contract for automated medical bill review services under workers’ compensation coverages. CorVel will provide services for MSF’s 27,000 employer policies beginning later this year.

CorVel is positioned to deliver an Application Service Provider (ASP) model to MSF and will be creating an Electronic Data Interface (EDI) for MSF’s new claims platform, ClaimCenter by Guidewire. These advanced capabilities will allow CorVel to meet MSF’s requirements for efficient, advanced service to their insureds and for the benefit of injured workers and the state’s medical providers.

The claims professionals at MSF will reportedly be able to easily work within the Claim Center and CorVel’s applications to efficiently coordinate reimbursement to the Montana medical community.

CareMC is CorVel’s healthcare management portal in which employers, patients, payors and providers can work together to optimize disability claims’ outcomes.

Risk managers and claims management professionals can act in real time, on information summarized to facilitate decisions. MSF will be
taking advantage of CorVel’s paperless processes to enhance their
bill review program.

CorVel will also be arranging automated provider reimbursement, which will reportedly streamline the bill review process and further enhance MSF’s program.
