So. Calif. Quake Registers 4.8; No Injuries, Damages
People in a number of areas of Southern California, including over to San Diego, got a short jolt Thursday evening from a magnitude 4.8 earthquake, centered 26 miles north of Imperial County’s El Centro.
The quake, reported at 6:27 p.m., was 92 miles east-northeast of Tijuana and eight miles southwest of Niland in Imperial County, according to data posted on the California Integrated Seismic Network.
Authorities did not report any damages or injuries from the quake.
