Reed Group Releases White Paper on Return to Work Guidelines
Reed Group Ltd., Westminster, Colo., has released a white paper on the productivity impact of its return to work guidelines, The Medical Disability Advisor, Fifth Edition, internet version.
The research found significant performance differences in the categories of productivity, accuracy and consistency. Specifically, user time required for typical tasks, user ability to develop complete and consistent disability and treatment recommendations, and general ease of use assessments were performed for typical reference scenarios. In each category, the MDA surpassed the competition, the report indicated.
“With this new independent research report, we are proud to be able to definitively show why the MDA is so highly preferred by the disability case management user community. The MDA is easier to understand and use, more complete, and allows case managers to focus on their main responsibility, taking care of the patient,” said Dr. Presley Reed, Editor-in-Chief of The Medical Disability Advisor and Chairman/Chief Medical Officer of Reed Group.
To evaluate the impact on disability management and compensation service organizations that manage return to work programs, Reed Group also released a Total Cost of Ownership Return on Investment (ROI) calculator designed to provide a financial impact assessment, customized to the individual user organization.
Marty Reader, Chief Marketing Officer of Reed Group says, “Over the years the disability management reference marketplace has responded intuitively to the usability and completeness of The Medical Disability Advisor, as shown by its rapid global adoption. Now organizations can determine an estimated annual savings impact for their particular organization. The cost assessment tool demonstrates real productivity savings of as much as $800 per user per year for the MDA based on the value of time saved by case managers in using the MDA as compared to other on-line options. When people start to calculate the ROI on the MDA versus other choices, and add that to the quality of evidence-based medicine content, the choice of the MDA will be even more apparent.”
The study and white paper was undertaken by Quintus Design, a professional web usability and design firm, studying The Medical Disability Advisor, Fifth Edition, (the MDA) published by Reed Group Ltd. as compared to a primary competitive return to work guideline.
