Poizner to Take Oath of Office as California’s New Commissioner
California Insurance Commissioner-elect Steve Poizner will take the oath of office today in front of 500 of Silicon Valley’s leaders at the Tech Museum of Innovation in downtown San Jose. Administering the oath of office will be former State Senator and current Superior Court Judge Quentin Kopp. Poizner is the first Silicon Valley entrepreneur to hold Statewide office.
Former Sen. Tom Campbell, former San Jose Mayor Tom McEnery and Santa Clara University President, Reverend Paul Locatelli, and others will lead the ceremony. Poizner plans to stress key themes of innovation and nonpartisanship.
The post-Inaugural lunch entertainment will feature comedian Kevin Pollak – the Silicon Valley native and veteran actor who has appeared in more than 50 films and was recently rated as one of the 50 funniest people by Comedy Central.
