Colo. House Approves Bill Expanding Workers Comp Choices
The Colorado House approved and sent to the Senate a bill that would require companies to allow injured workers to choose between two doctors for workers compensation care.
It also would allow workers to change doctors if they want a second opinion within the first 90 days.
Rep. Morgan Carroll, D-Aurora, said 32 states allow workers to pick their own doctors and the rest allow workers to choose from a list.
Carroll said current law gives insurance companies complete control over the selection of the doctor for a patient who has been injured at work.
