Washington Insurance Commissioner Names Stoner Chief Deputy
Washington Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler has appointed Vernon E. Stoner as his chief deputy to replace Mike Watson, who retires at the end of the month. Before joining the Office of the Insurance Commissioner, Stoner was the eeputy eirector for operations at The Washington State Department of Labor and Industries. His first day was April 1.
Stoner has more than 25 years of experience as a public servant. Before joining Labor and Industries, he served as deputy chief executive officer for the Regional Transit Authority and was the city manager of Vancouver, Wash., Saginaw, Mich., and Lacey, Wash. He also was the commissioner of Employment Security for two governors in Washington State.
