California State Compensation Insurance Fund Promotes Gardner
Scott Gardner was promoted to medical operations manager for State Fund’s Claims/Rehabilitation Department.
Gardner brings more than 20 years of solid workers’ comp experience to his new post. He joined the organization’s Santa Rosa district office as a claims adjuster in 1988. He took a proactive approach to claims initiated settlements, achieving “Top Claims Finalizer” during his first year on the job. His claims knowledge was broadened with a vocational rehabilitation counselor assignment in 1990, followed by a promotion to senior claims adjuster in 1993. The following year he was named assistant claims manager for the Santa Rosa district office. He relocated to corporate headquarters in San Francisco when he became nanager of claims/rehabilitation’s utilization review and lien unit. Guidelines developed by his unit for utilization review provided significant savings for State Fund policyholders.
