Lightning Sparks Wildfire in Wyoming
A wildfire is burning through beetle-killed trees in Shoshone National Forest west of Cody, Wyo.
Lightning started the fire in the North Absaroka Wilderness. So far, the fire has burned over a couple hundred acres.
Forest officials say they’re monitoring the fire by helicopter. District Ranger Terry Root says rough terrain and heavy timber make the fire inaccessible for equipment and unsafe for firefighters.
Hot, dry weather is expected to keep the fire active.
