Apartment Fire Displaces 50 in Corte Madera
Fifty people are homeless after a fire destroyed a four-story apartment building in Marin County, California.
Corte Madera fire officials say there were no injuries, but that the six alarm blaze started just after 1 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, and destroyed the whole complex.
Officials say the fire apparently started on the second floor of the complex, but are still investigating its cause.
The Red Cross served the displaced residents breakfast and says it will provide caseworkers and counselors through Wednesday.
Damage has been estimated at $2 or $3 million.
