Plane Crashes in California, Burns Two Homes
An airplane that was scheduled to land at the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego crashed on Monday, Dec. 8, killing at least three people and destroying two homes.
According to local news reports, the pilot parachuted out of the cockpit before the crash and lived, but the plane landed on two homes in the University City neighborhood, killing the people in the house. A fourth person was unaccounted for at press time, but officials planned to resume a search on Tuesday, Dec. 9. Additionally, about residents from about 20 homes were evacuated because of the smoke from the crash.
