Chubb Helps to Protect Homes from Santa Barbara Wildfire
As the wildfire in Santa Barbara, CA, expands in scope and intensity, the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies has stepped up measures to help protect its homeowners insurance customers’ properties. Earlier this week, Chubb deployed its Wildfire Defense Services to the area, and, as the fire spread, it dispatched additional wildfire engines and crews.
“We continue to aggressively and tirelessly help prevent the intense flames and raining embers from igniting our customers’ homes. We have sprayed a number of the homes with fire-blocking gel and have taken other protective measures. We are in continuous contact with Incident Command and are fully coordinating our efforts with them,” said Scott Spencer, worldwide loss prevention manager for Chubb Personal Insurance. “So far, we are having a lot of success in protecting our clients’ homes.”
In conjunction with Wildfire Defense Systems Inc., Chubb established its service last year to help protect the homes of Chubb policyholders in 13 states through a network of trained, certified wildfire fighters and highly effective fire-blocking gel. This service is available in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
