Moderate Avalanche Risk in West-Central Idaho
Officials with the Payette Avalanche Center say the risk of a slide remains moderate in the mountains of west-central Idaho.
Dave Bingaman with the avalanche center says widespread windslabs formed in early February on north, northeastern and northwestern slopes. Bingaman says the slabs can be easily cut through with skis, potentially causing avalanches. But he says there’s still plenty of good skiing available on eastern and western aspects.
