Idaho Fraud Awareness Coalition Announces Scholarship Winners
The Idaho Fraud Awareness Coalition, founded by the state’s Department of Insurance, will award scholarship money to three Idaho high school students for their research and knowledge in the area of fraud and its impact on consumers.
The scholarship contest, sponsored by Farmers Insurance Company of Idaho, was open to all high school seniors. Students were instructed to research the types of fraud being perpetrated in Idaho and learn about the cost and consequences fraud has on society as a whole. Three prizes were offered: first place, $1,000.00; second place, $750.00; third place; $250.00.
Students from throughout the state participated in this year’s contest. The first place winner is Laynie Jenson, daughter of Phil and Leslie Jensen, from Nampa. Second place went to Stephen Shepherd, son of David and Julie Shepherd, from Coeur d’Alene. The third place student, Connie Shipley, daughter of Tony and Kathy Shipley, is from Aberdeen.
Prizes will be awarded by representatives of Farmers Insuarnce, the Fraud Awareness Coalition and the Department of Insurance.
