Rancho Cucamonga Man Arrested for Auto Insurance Fraud

A Rancho Cucamonga man has been arrested for auto insurance fraud, the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office announced.

According to the DA, on July 6, 2010, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Eugene Peter Boese. Boese, a Los Angeles County Deputy Sheriff, was arrested for 118 PC, perjury, 550 (A) (1) PC, 550 (B) (1) PC, insurance fraud. On July 8, 2010, he turned himself into the Auto Insurance Fraud Investigation Unit of the DA’s office. Also present at the time of arrest were several officials of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga for booking.

The DA said on March 14, 2009, between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m., Boese claims he parked and locked his 2005 Cadillac CTS in the driveway of his residence in Rancho Cucamonga. He came out to his vehicle the next day about 3:45 a.m. to go to work and he claimed his vehicle was gone. He contacted the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department to file an auto theft report. At the time of the report, he claimed he was in possession of both sets of keys to his vehicle. His vehicle was recovered in Mexico two days later and brought back to the United States.

His vehicle was towed to an auto repair business that Boese frequents. When an adjuster from AAA examined the Cadillac there were no signs of lock or ignition tampering. AAA became suspicious of the claim and the damage. His claim was denied. A subsequent investigation revealed false information was provided to AAA.

Bail was set at $100,000.
