Fire Rips Through Washington Indiana Reservation Town
Washington’s Office of the Insurance Commissioner is offering assistance to victims of the White Swan fire. The wind-whipped blaze tore through the town of White Swan, Wash., on an Indiana reservation southwest of Yakima, and torching 18 homes and leaving 120 people homeless.
The OIC said it can help to answer insurance questions or problems, as well as help to contact victims’ insurers on their behalf.
No decision has yet been been made on whether the community will qualify for disaster relief.
MSNBC and Bank of America are accepting donations in the name of teh White Swan Relief Fund.
