Woman Files $1.5M Tort Claim Against County in Idaho
A Boise woman who says she had a sexual encounter with an on-duty Ada County Sheriff’s sergeant while she was intoxicated has filed a $1.5 million tort claim against the county.
The tort claim filed March 15 says the encounter took place in October 2010.
Ada County officials tell the Idaho Statesman that Sgt. Joe Wright has been placed on administrative leave during an investigation by GemCounty prosecutors.
Wright is a 20-year veteran of the sheriff’s office who in 2009 was recognized for rescuing an elderly woman from a burning home.
The woman who filed the tort claim says Wright took her home from the Ada County Jail following her arrest on suspicion of drunken driving.
The tort claim says the woman remembered being kissed by Wright, and then waking up the next morning disrobed in bed.
