Golfball-Sized Hail Strafes Cheyenne, Wyoming
A severe thunderstorm spawned funnel clouds and strafed southeast Wyoming with golfball-sized hail.
In Cheyenne, the hail shredded trees, dented cars and damaged a handful of private planes at the airport.
The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reports the hail also plugged up storm drains while the capital city got almost an inch and a half of rain.
Crews plowed hail from the streets into mounds 3 and 4 feet high.
Funnel clouds were spotted east of Cheyenne but authorities said they heard no reports of tornado damage.
