Ready Pac Recalls 5K Cases of Bagged Salads
Ready Pac Foods has recalled more than 5,000 cases of bagged salad because of a possible E. coli contamination.
The Food and Drug Administration said Wednesday that the bagged romaine lettuce and salad mixes were distributed to 15 Western states.
The recall was issued by the Irwindale, Calif. company after a random government test showed contamination.
The bagged salads have a sell-by date of Nov. 18.
E. coli can cause food poisoning and death in severe cases.
FDA officials say this recall has not been related to any report of illness.
The states the recalled lettuce was distributed in were Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Washington, and Wyoming.
