Lawyer: Moms Stole From Hawaii Toy Store for Kids
An attorney says five unemployed single mothers who took items from a Hawaii toy store showed up at his office with the stolen goods wrapped as presents.
Myles Breiner says the women know what they did was wrong and want to return the stolen toys. They contacted him after police released photos from surveillance footage showing them and a man helping themselves to merchandise at a Toys-R-Us in Oahu earlier this month. A witness told police they were seen making several trips to their vehicle carrying large boxes of toys. Police say they took about $1,000 worth of merchandise.
Breiner says the women took the toys for their children. The items were in his office Sunday and he was waiting to hear from police.
