Super Bowl Weekend Colorado DUI Arrests Down Again
Colorado officials say preliminary reports show drunken-driving arrests over Super Bowl weekend were down for the second year in a row.
Preliminary reports also show there were no alcohol-related fatalities in the state from Feb. 3 to Feb. 6. The Colorado Department of Transportation and the State Patrol say a snowstorm Feb. 3 may have kept more people at home.
They say 66 law-enforcement agencies across the state arrested 274 drivers suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs over Super Bowl weekend. They say 125 of those arrests took place on Super Bowl Sunday.
There were 303 DUI arrests during the 2011 Super Bowl enforcement period. There were 371 arrests in 2010.
