Authorities: Los Angeles Apartment Fire Likely Arson
A woman escaped a fire that engulfed her West Hollywood, Calif., apartment and authorities say they’re investigating it as arson.
Los Angeles County Fire Capt. Mark Savage says investigators tell him the blaze early Sunday was directly related to a dispute between two ex-roommates. Savage did not elaborate.
No arrests have been made. Investigators have not released a description of a suspect.
The woman was home alone in the four-story building when the fire broke out and was able to escape uninjured. About 100 tenants were evacuated while fire crews doused the blaze in about 20 minutes.
Her top-floor unit was completely destroyed. Two apartments below sustained water damage.
