Worker Dies After 17 Foot Fall at Alaska Construction Site
A worker has died after falling 17 feet from a platform at a construction site for a new Anchorage, Alaska, power plant.
The Anchorage Daily News reports Paul Ackerman was injured Monday.
The project contractor, Quebec-based SNC-Lavalin, says the 47-year-old Ackerman died Tuesday at an Anchorage hospital.
Ackerman was a foreman and a member of Local 375 Plumbers and Steamfitters Union of Fairbanks. His brother says Ackerman has an 11-year-old son.
The contractor and state officials are both investigating the accident.
