No Damage, Injuries After California Manhole Explosion
California fire officials say there were no injuries and no damage was caused when an underground explosion blew a manhole cover into the air.
San Francisco Fire Department Capt. Tony Dumont says the explosion took place at the intersection of Grant and California streets around 10 a.m. Saturday.
Dumont says Pacific Gas & Electric crews were on the scene trying to determine what caused the blast.
PG&E spokeswoman Jana Morris says the cause of the explosion is under investigation, but believes it was caused by some sort of equipment failure.
Morris says there are no power outages associated with the incident.
