Oregon Toddler Critical After Fall Into Washing Machine
Police in the Portland suburb of Hillsboro, Ore., say a toddler is hospitalized in critical condition after falling into a washing machine full of water.
Police spokesman Mike Rouches tells KATU that the 18-month-old boy crawled up on top of the washer Friday by using some type of tub that was against it.
The boy’s mother reportedly was reading a book in the living room when the accident happened. Rouches says the child was not breathing when the woman found him in the washer.
The boy is hospitalized at Oregon Health and Science University.
Police responded but determined no crime had been committed.
