Fire Causes $1M Damage at Nevada Apartment Building Site
Fire investigators in Henderson, Nev., are probing a two-alarm blaze that destroyed more than 32 apartment units and caused about $1 million in damage before dawn at a construction site in the Green Valley area.
Henderson fire investigators say the 4:20 a.m. Wednesday blaze at the complex off Wigwam Parkway and Gibson Road is suspicious.
Battalion Chief Doug Koopman says a pair of two-story wood-framed buildings with 16 apartments each were destroyed. A third nearby building under construction was damaged.
No injuries are reported.
Batallion Chief Jeff Lytle tells KVVU-TV Fox 5 that no workers were on site and there was no electric wiring installed yet in the structure. He says there’s no apparent reason for the fire to have started.
