Fire at California Jewelry Plant Causes $10,000 in Damage
A fire at a San Diego County, Calif., jewelry plant forced more than 30 workers to flee and caused an estimated $10,000 in damage.
U-T San Diego says the fire broke out in an air filter system Wednesday afternoon at Industrial Strength Corp. in Carlsbad.
The company makes jewelry used in body piercings.
Employees were evacuated and firefighters knocked down the flames in less than 10 minutes.
Osuna says one woman was treated at the scene for a minor medical problem.
