Nevada Announces Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement Week
The Commercial Vehicle Safety Association (CVSA) and the Nevada Highway Patrol Commercial Enforcement Unit will be cracking down on distracted driving and focusing their efforts on commercial motor vehicles this week.
This week the commercial troopers will be saturating IR580, IR80, US395, and US50, looking for distracted drivers, as well as, other traffic violations. The troopers will be working six hours shift throughout the greater Reno-Sparks and Carson City areas.
According to CVSA, more than 40,000 deaths involving commercial and non commercial vehicles have occurred nationwide on the roadway each year.
According to CVSA young drivers between 16-24 years of age, are involved in 10.1% of fatal accidents and 13.5% of all accidents.
