Flagstaff Police Tow Snowplow Blockers
Flagstaff, Ariz., police are cracking down on drivers who park on the streets and block snowplows during storms.
Nearly three dozen people had their vehicles towed away during the weekend’s snow storm at the request of frustrated city snowplow drivers attempting to keep the streets clear.
The Arizona Daily Sun reports at least 34 vehicles were towed after police tried to call drivers in the early morning hours to move their cars out of the way.
Police spokesman Sgt. James Jackson says the city has a winter parking ordinance that bans street parking between midnight and 7 a.m. in most areas and from 3 a.m. to 7 a.m. in the downtown area.
It is in force between Nov. 1 and April 1.
