Phoenix TV Host Unhurt But Shaken After Purse Snatching
Scottsdale, Ariz., police are looking for a man who snatched the purse of a Phoenix television host and fled in an SUV.
3TV reports Lisa Haffner was pushing a shopping cart in the parking lot of a Safeway store on Sunday afternoon when a man drove up behind her.
Haffner says the man reached out of a Cadillac Escalade, grabbed her purse and knocked her over with the cart, sending groceries flying across the pavement.
Haffner wasn’t hurt, but says she immediately thought of 21-year-old Kyleigh Sousa, who was dragged to death in 2010 when a man inside a car grabbed her purse and fled with her tangled in the purse’s strap.
A 22-year-old man was convicted of first-degree murder and is serving life in prison.
