Sand Bags Going Out to Limit Colorado Fire Flooding
Hundreds of homeowners living near the Waldo Canyon burn area in Colorado Springs are getting more sandbags to limit flooding this spring.
Officials say the risk of flooding has increased by 350 percent as a result of environmental damage to the burn area.
According to KOAA-TV, the city has received 100,000 new sand bags and plans a second sand bag distribution day.
Last year, two people died in the Waldo Canyon fire, which burned 346 homes and 28 square miles in Colorado Springs.
