Idaho Sewer Break Damages 7 Homes
Idaho officials are investigating what caused a 24-inch sewer line to collapse and flood the basements of seven homes.
Blackfoot Mayor Mike Virtue says the city’s drinking water is not affected and he hopes repairs to the line will be completed by Wednesday afternoon.
The line on Frontage Road collapsed Monday morning, flooding the basements of nearby homes. The sewage water was knee-deep in some places.
Crews were draining a 13-foot deep manhole to excavate the pipe and determine what caused the break.
The residents have not had to leave their homes. A damage estimate has not yet been determined.
