Nevada Energy Warns of Robbers Wearing Utility Clothes
Nevada’s main power company is warning Las Vegas-area residents about robbers wearing NV Energy uniforms tricking people into letting them inside homes.
NV Energy spokeswoman Jennifer Schuricht says the company is working with Las Vegas police on the problem.
Schuricht says technicians sometimes knock on doors to alert customers that they’re installing or repairing outdoor equipment.
But utility company workers and contractors won’t enter someone’s home without an appointment.
Legitimate employees also have identification badges that display their photo and employee number.
Schuricht says NV Energy corporate security number to can verify an employee. Phone 702-402-5007.
