70 People Displaced After Las Vegas Apartment Fire
Authorities say 70 people were displaced and two people are injured after a three-alarm fire at a Las Vegas apartment complex.
Las Vegas Fire & Rescue officials say they responded to the fire a little before 7 a.m. Sunday at the Encantada Apartments, near U.S. 95 and Eastern Avenue.
Two people who were in the unit where the fire apparently started were injured as they escaped. Firefighters say one person jumped from the second-story balcony, and both were injured when that person tried to catch the other one.
Officials say they put the flames out in about 90 minutes. Damage is estimated at $300,000.
Crews say the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
