Additional Claims Filed in Deadly Arizona Wildfire
Additional claims are being filed against the state, Yavapai County and the city of Prescott in connection with the deadly Yarnell Hill fire last summer.
The Daily Courier reports that the additional claims were filed Monday on behalf of owners of six properties in Yarnell, the rural community where more than 100 homes were destroyed.
The claims are precursors to possible lawsuits and they seek a total of more than $33 million from the entities.
The owners of seven other properties and the mother of a firefighter who died also have filed claims.
