Colorado Flood Debris Removal Set for Monday
The Colorado Department of Transportation will be making another pass Monday to pick up flood debris at two locations along U.S. Highway 36 between Lyons and Estes Park.
The department is asking residents to bring trees, brush, grass and other vegetative debris to the area near Apple Valley Road west of Lyons. Flood-related construction and demolition waste, including wood framing from houses, furniture, carpet, clothes and concrete, should be taken to an area set up along the highway west of Lyons.
September’s floods killed nine people, damaged or destroyed nearly 2,000 homes and washed out hundreds of miles of roads.
