Fire Causes $85,000 Damage to Auto Repair Shop Near Vegas Strip
Arson investigators are probing the cause of a weekend blaze in an automotive repair business across Interstate 15 from the Las Vegas Strip.
No injuries were reported after the two-alarm fire a little after 6 a.m. Sunday behind a business called BWMs Only on Dean Martin Drive between Tropicana and Hacienda avenues.
Deputy Clark County Fire Chief Jon Klassen says 911 callers reported a “pop” sound before the fire was reported.
Firefighters arrived to find fire inside and outside the business, with flames spreading to several vehicles parked nearby.
Klassen says it took about 20 minutes for firefitghters to douse flames.
Damage to the building and vehicles is estimated at about $85,000.
