Wrong Photos Issued on Arizona Driver Permits, IDs
Arizona transportation officials say a new system is to blame for some people getting the wrong picture on their driver’s permit.
KPHO-TV reports that Arizona Motor Vehicles Department director Stacey Stanton says she learned Tuesday that there have been five cases so far of people receiving a license or ID with someone else’s photo and signature.
Stanton says the agency transitioned last week to a new centralized system.
She says a team of employees is examining what could be causing the glitch.
She says officials don’t think it’s a systemic issue and that people’s personal information is still safe.
Anyone who finds an error on their driver’s license or identification card should immediately call the MVD.
