New Mexico Man Arrested for 13th DWI
It’s an unlucky number but officials say he’s lucky no one has been killed.
KOB-TV reports an Albuquerque, N.M., man was arrested last week for his 13th drunken driving charge.
According to police, an officer saw Celestino Centeno backed his car out of a driveway in a neighborhood near downtown Albuquerque and slammed into a curb, disabling the vehicle,
The criminal complaints says Centeno denied drinking but had “alcohol emitting from his breath, thick speech and bloodshot watery eyes.” Police say he refused to take a field sobriety test and was charged with aggravated DWI.
Court records show Centeno has been arrested for drunken driving 13 times but has six DWI convictions.
He is being held on a $50,000 bond.
It was not known if he had hired an attorney.
