Portland Neighborhood Told to Fix Own Potholes
The city of Portland is telling a neighborhood with poor streets to fix its own potholes.
The Oregon city says street repairs are not its responsibility in the southwest Portland neighborhood because the roads were not up to code when the area was annexed.
Diane Dulken with the city tells KPTV the roads are not the city’s responsibility until they are paved. The city has about 60 miles of gravel roads where neighbors are responsible for their own repairs.
One annexed resident, Dorene Willis, says it’s unfair because they pay taxes and fees.
