Colorado County DUI Drivers Registered Highest BAC Levels
A state drunken driving prevention program says Mesa County drivers who were arrested for driving under the influence had the highest blood-alcohol levels of any county in Colorado in 2013.
The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel reported Monday the Persistent Drunk Driver Program released the statistics on its website, noduicolorado.org.
The website says the average blood-alcohol content for Mesa County DUI drivers was 0.176. That’s nearly twice the legal threshold of 0.08 percent.
The website didn’t list a statewide average.
The Persistent Drunk Driver Program was established by state law in 1998. It includes representatives of the state Department of Human Services, Judicial Branch, Department of Transportation and Department of Revenue.
