Downtown Phoenix Hotel Remains Closed After Electrical Fire
A major hotel in downtown Phoenix, Ariz., remains closed as workers repair damage from a weekend fire.
The fire at the Sheraton Downtown Phoenix Hotel forced the evacuation of approximately 800 guests, who were relocated to other hotels. No injuries were reported from the fire Saturday,
The fire occurred in an electrical room, ad hotel officials say the closure is expected to continue through Monday as workers repair an electrical panel.
Located in downtown next to the city convention center, the Sheraton has about 1,000 rooms and 80,000 square feet of meeting space.
The hotel opened in September 2008 and bills itself as the largest hotel in Arizona.
