Oregon Student Files $110,000 Suit Over Severed Finger
A student who lost a finger while working on an airplane engine at Portland Community College has filed a $110,000 lawsuit against the college.
The Hillsboro man, Shantia “Sean” Magui, says he lost part of his right index finger in January 2013 in an aviation maintenance technology class.
The Oregonian reports the suit filed last month in Multnomah County Circuit Court alleges the college failed to properly train and supervise students for safety.
A college spokeswoman says a student confidentiality law prevents her from commenting on the lawsuit.
