Insurance Journal’s MyNewMarkets Picks Winner for Free TV
San Diego (September 7, 2007) — Insurance Journal proved it pays to belong to its new MyNewMarkets.com community as it aired a webcast of its drawing for a free 40″ Samsung high definition television last week.
The winner, selected randomly out of a raffle drum, was Michelle Colangelo of The Hartford Financial Services Group. Colangelo was watching the broadcast of the drawing on her computer screen and was taken aback that she was selected. “I can’t believe I won,” Colangelo later said. “Nothing like this has ever happened to me!”
Dubbed the “MyNewMarkets.com Big Screen TV Give-away,” the promotion was intended to grow membership of MyNewMarkets.com, a free market-focused website offered by Insurance Journal.
Colangelo faced a lot of competition for the television. “We launched the promotion about nine weeks ago, inviting people to register for the television when they joined MyNewMarkets.com,” said Adam Dunford, Vice President of New Business Development for Insurance Journal, “and close to 1200 people registered.”
According to Dunford, the promotion not only helped grow membership of the website, but also served to increase the sense of community felt by the MyNewMarkets.com members. “This is a community based website where the members play a vital role in providing value to the site,” Dunford explained.
The free member-driven service has drawn close to 11,000 members and harnessed an impressive database of nearly 25,000 listed markets.
MyNewMarkets offers agents and brokers a forum to search for and discuss specific market needs and products available from carriers and brokers. Membership to the MyNewmarkets website is free.
