San Diego – (January 6, 2010) – After months of planning and preparation, Insurance Journal has launched its latest product for the property/casualty insurance industry: The Academy of Insurance.
Led by Director of Education, Christopher J. Boggs, CPCU, ARM, ALCM, LPCS, AAI, APA, CWCA, CRIS, the Academy is the newest and possibly broadest ranging training resource for insurance professionals. Training courses, conducted online, focus on four major disciplines within the industry:
- Sales Training
- Agency Management
- Coverage Analysis
- Human Resources
Courses are taught by leading professionals within their fields and are available for live viewing and also recorded for on-demand viewing.
“We are excited to launch this latest Insurance Journal offering,” said Mitch Dunford, CEO of Insurance Journal. “The Academy of Insurance rounds out our portfolio and allows us to address one of the more important needs of our audience. Our readers hunger for information to help them succeed. Now we offer them, not only news and commentary about the goings-on of the industry but also expertise in areas that will help them develop their careers and grow their businesses.”
As of January 1, 2010, the Academy is offering 18 courses, in four disciplines, with plans to add an additional 65 classes by the end of the year. Most of the courses will be conducted online in live “webinar” classrooms, where the instructor and students interact virtually, via a computer and telephone connection. Some courses will be held in physical classroom settings.
Boggs has served as associate editor of MyNewMarkets.com, the online marketplace for agents and brokers, since its founding two years ago and has developed a fast-growing and loyal following of insurance professionals.
“I can’t think of a better person to lead this new business unit,” added Dunford. “Many of our readers and MyNewMarkets.com members already know Chris Boggs and value his knowledge of the industry and ability to communicate. Chris will provide training himself and will also arrange for specialists to present classes to our readers.”
