American Claims Management Appointed TPA for Large Self-Insured Group
San Diego, CA, 3/30/11 – American Claims Management, Inc. (ACM) has been appointed as the third party claims administrator for the California Restaurant Mutual Benefit Corporation (CRMBC), the largest self-insured group in California. Effective April 1, 2011, ACM will commence handling all of CRMBC’s workers’ compensation claims throughout California.
CRMBC currently has 3,905 restaurants and golf country clubs with over $1.7 billion in covered payroll and is the only such self-insured program available to restaurants in California. ACM is excited to work for CRMBC’s members and CHSI, the group’s self-insured administrator. “We are confident that our highly experienced team and innovative technology solutions will greatly contribute to the ongoing success of CRMBC,” said Scott Marshall, president of ACM.
ACM will be providing claims administration, litigation management, field and fraud investigation, return to work, and subrogation recovery services as well as all regulatory reporting mandated by the Office of Self-Insurance Plans, Department of Industrial Relations.
Deirdre Millwood, senior vice president of ACM’s workers’ compensation claims division said, “California workers’ compensation faces a variety of challenges. Medical costs on indemnity claims are up 60% since 2005 and liens continue to accumulate at the WC Boards. Self-insured groups have higher reserve requirements and tougher regulations, but they exist to help employers control long-term costs. We see a great opportunity to do that with our partners at CRMBC and CHSI.”
Since 1988, American Claims Management has been an independent national third party claims administrator specializing in both commercial and personal lines. By offering professional expertise in claims administration, ACM is committed to providing superior claims services and innovative solutions. For more information, please visit www.ACMclaims.com. ACM is a wholly owned subsidiary of Arrowhead General Insurance Agency, Inc.
