Pa. Sets Series of Consumer Meetings on Insurance
Cindy Fillman, the Pennsylvania Insurance Department’s consumer liaison, is inviting consumers to regional consumer advisory meetings to talk, ask questions and bring items of interest to the direct attention of the department.
“I am very excited about this chance to hear directly from consumers and have an open dialogue with them about any insurance issues that are on their minds,” Fillman said. “Insurance is a large component of a family budget, and the first step in understanding this complex topic is for consumers to be as informed as possible. These advisory meetings will serve both as a platform for consumers to voice their concerns, as well as a way for consumers to learn more about insurance protection.
“Because the needs of consumers may vary in each region of the state, I expect that many topics will be covered in this first round of meetings,” Fillman added. “Future meetings will address, in depth, the issues that emerge as each of the groups’ top priorities.”
Each regional meeting will have two different sessions to accommodate the schedules of the consumers around the state. A special educational session on flood insurance will follow the first advisory meeting in Harrisburg. The schedule is as follows:
