MCMC Purchases Injury Management Resources
MCMC LLC announced the completion of an asset purchase of the business of Injury Management Resources Inc. (IMR).
The acquired business is a regional provider of integrated managed care services including utilization review, case management, bill review, hospital bill audit, life-care plans, ergonomic assessments, and expert opinions for employers, insurers, and claims administrators in the workers’ compensation and disability insurance markets in New England.
“The acquisition of the IMR business will further expand our presence within the New England workers’ compensation and disability markets. We will gain the extensive experience of IMR in the areas of pre-certification and utilization review, further complementing our current service offerings,” said Michael Lindberg, president, and chief executive officer, MCMC. “MCMC also gains an experienced staff of qualified nurses and a proven management team,” Lindberg continued.
“We look forward to offering our clients an expanded line of services. There is a significant opportunity to integrate the expertise of our nurse reviewers with MCMC’s peer review resources and also offer their independent medical exam services. These integrated services will ultimately improve our clients’ claims handling and outcomes in workers’ compensation, and short and long-term disability,” added Chris Wood, president, IMR.
The acquired business will maintain their current operations in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, and Manchester, New Hampshire, under the same leadership, using their current trade name.
